Glean for Education’s simple administration features are incredibly easy to use and make it effortless for coordinators to invite, manage, monitor and support hundreds of students at a time. In addition, Glean for Education includes a number of value-added services including staff and student training and feedback, and ongoing consultancy to help departments to achieve their goals. The new Glean application can be accessed anywhere, at any time, and provides a department-wide license that enables institutions to offer note taking accommodation to all registered students in just a few clicks, ensuring no student is left without support. These lawsuits centered on accessibility, increased delays in provision, and the issues for students struggling to navigate asynchronous and synchronous classes. In August 2020 alone there were 35 institutions facing federal lawsuits, partly due to the influx of online classes and remote learning. The innovative technology sees a move to proactive support for a diverse range of students by equipping them with a state-of-the-art notetaking solution that offers compliance without complication helping institutions streamline administration while avoiding costly lawsuits. Digital transformation in the education sector has been accelerated as a result of COVID-19, as traditional classroom solutions no longer solve the challenges of learning in the online/offline hybrid environment. With more than a decade of experience in the sector, Sonocent launched Glean for Education to transform the way higher education institutions support learning in a post-Covid world. This post may have been quite short but I hope that it has been of use to some of you.LEEDS, England–(BUSINESS WIRE)– #edchat–Sonocent has announced the launch of Glean for Education, a full-service note taking package designed to support student success in a post-Covid world, helping higher education institutions solve one of today’s biggest accommodations’ challenges. It really has taken away the pressure of trying to keep up in lectures, meaning that I can concentrate fully on my studies. Sonocent Audio Notetaker has so many great functions, too many to list here. The software not only allows you to record lectures (with a microphone of course) but also allows you to add notes, slides and images! You can even colour code your audio and notes to make them easier to look back on at a later date. I use this software to record my lectures as I find it hard to keep up with note taking. Dragon isn’t just useful for word processing, you can use it for many more tasks- even searching the internet! The software has saved me so much strain and time when it comes to submitting essays (I have Cerebral Palsy). This allows Dragon to pick up on your individual inflections and nuances which leads to greater accuracy. Each person who uses the software has to create a personal profile. Make sure the button in the middle of the bar is green, this means the software will pick up your dictations. The software is very simple to use, all you need is a microphone. I like this about the software as it doesn’t take up too much space. The interface is a small bar that appears along the top of your laptop screen. I don’t have any screenshots to show you but there are many demonstration videos out there if you want to learn more.ĭragon is voice recognition software that I use for writing essays. This post may be helpful if any of you out there have been offered these pieces of software but don’t really know what they entail. This post may be slightly niche, but I thought that I’d share my experiences of Dragon and Sonocent Audio Notetaker, two pieces of software that Disabled Student Allowance provided me with.
